Maeve is designed to respect your time and your data.
Maeve is currently in controlled beta. Features, data flows, and retention practices may change as we harden the product. Please do not store emergency-critical information in Maeve.
1. What we collect
We collect data needed to operate and improve Maeve during controlled beta.
You may provide:
- Firebase/Auth account data such as your email address, user ID, and optional name
- Time logs, active timer state, activity labels, categories, and planning data
- Daily and weekly check-ins, notes, metrics, and scores
- Body measurements, progress photos, uploaded media, and generated videos
We may collect:
- Usage data (how you interact with Maeve)
- Device, browser, local sync metadata, and basic technical information
- Render job records and generated render metadata
2. How we use data
We use your data to:
- Provide the product
- Generate insights
- Sync your own data across devices when cloud sync is enabled
- Process media uploads and generate transformation videos when you request them
- Improve Maeve using aggregated or de-identified data where practical
3. AI processing
Maeve uses AI to analyze patterns in your data.
This may involve secure third-party providers.
- Only necessary data is shared
- Data is minimized where possible
- Improvements are based on aggregated, non-identifiable data
4. What we do not do
We do not:
- Sell your data
- Use your data for advertising
- Share your personal data for third-party marketing
- Claim that cloud-synced account data is anonymous
- Provide medical, health, financial, psychological, or emergency advice
5. Third-party services
We use trusted providers for:
- Authentication, hosting, databases, and file storage (e.g., Firebase)
- Analytics
- AI processing
- Video/render processing
- Email delivery
These providers process data only to operate Maeve.
6. Analytics
We may use analytics tools to understand usage and improve the product.
7. Data storage, local data & security
Maeve may store data in cloud services and in your browser. Local browser data may live in local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, service worker caches, or similar browser storage.
Local data can include time logs, planning data, preferences, active timer state, and sync metadata. Clearing local data from a browser does not delete cloud data, account data, uploaded media, generated videos, or render jobs.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but Maeve is not end-to-end encrypted.
However, no system is completely secure.
8. Your rights
You may request:
- Export or access to your data
- Correction of your data
- Cloud data deletion
- Media deletion, including photos and generated videos
- Account deletion support
Contact: info@meetmaeve.ai
During controlled beta, export and deletion requests are handled manually. Please include the email address used for Maeve and specify whether you want an export, cloud data deletion, media deletion, generated video deletion, account deletion support, or a combination of those.
We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Data retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to:
- Provide the service
- Improve Maeve
- Meet legal obligations
For media deletion requests, we aim to remove both the database metadata and the matching Firebase Storage object where we can identify them. Deleting source photos does not automatically delete already generated videos unless you ask us to remove those generated renders too.
Backup copies, security logs, provider logs, or records needed for legal and abuse prevention purposes may remain for a limited period.
10. International users
Maeve is based in Canada but may be used globally.
By using Maeve, you consent to your data being processed in Canada and other jurisdictions where our providers operate.
11. Changes
We may update this policy.
